Alexander Bain provided an Emmy for early television technology



A Scottish inventor has been offered an Emmy for services to technology and engineering, nearly 140 years after his dying.

Alexander Bain invented a manner of sending photographs throughout wires, which may be obtained and reconstructed. This early fax machine become a forerunner to tv.

East Dunbartonshire Council, who hold the Kirkintilloch guy's grave, have obtained the award on his behalf.
